I've been designing and making apparel for 25 years, ever since creating a prom dress for my girlfriend out of bubble wrap. From couture wedding gowns to rugged outdoor wear, if someone said something couldn't be done, then I took it apart and did it myself. I love designing clothes for a purpose, whether it be dancing a tango or summiting Mount Rainier. I believe there no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing. I'm happiest in the mountains, testing the latest gear just off the sewing machine.
I was lead senior designer at Outdoor Research for ten years, overseeing a line of apparel with earnings from $500k in sales to $17m. Many of my designs have won industry awards.
I have a god-given gift for transforming a garment from a mere idea into a functional tech pack that is accessible to any fabricator, from a facility in Northern China to a workshop in south Seattle.
I love creating designs for style and utility, recycling old clothes into new ones. I love life, liberty and the pursuit of adrenaline.
